Lakeland native Dr. Curtis W Cassidy founded KetaMist® with the goal to provide cutting edge psychiatric medical treatment to as many patients as possible.
Born and raised in Lakeland, Florida, Dr. Cassidy received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of South Florida and a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Yale University. Dr. Cassidy is double board certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Cassidy opened Cassidy Psychiatry in July 2006 in Lakeland, Florida and quickly became the go to for patient focused psychiatric care in Central Florida. Always on the forefront of psychiatric care, in 2009, Dr. Cassidy had one of the first Neurostar Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment centers in Florida.
After groundbreaking research in ketamine’s effects on the brain and the FDA approval of Spravato (esketamine) in 2019, Dr. Cassidy again led the way and became Lakeland’s first Spravato certified outpatient provider. Dr. Cassidy went on to be one of the largest Spravato providers in the state of Florida for over two years.
While Spravato offered relief for many patients, some patients had to stop treatment even though it worked because their insurance company quit paying for Spravato’s high price tag. Dr. Cassidy had to find a solution for his patients. Dr. Cassidy’s desire to always put patients first inspired him to develop KetaMist®.
With KetaMist®, patients have control over their ketamine treatments in ways that are impossible for IV, oral, injectable, and nasal delivery. Unlike other ketamine treatments, KetaMist® does not use invasive needles, injections, IVs, or nasal sprays.
